The Importance of Conducting an Air Leakage Test on Your Building

The amount of energy needed to heat a building and subsequently reduce carbon emissions your carbon footprint is only possible if your building is air tight. Hence air leakage tests are one of the most effective ways to measure the efficiency of homes and buildings.

The energy required to heat up your home can add up to a huge amount so you should not waste these energy resources. During the winter period, an air leakage test will determine where the air is leaking from your building and hence save money on fuel costs.

To reach the governments target efficiency figures, most new buildings now have to have an air leakage test. It is very important that a qualified person performs the test so the building inspector can pass the building.

Most buildings are designed closely following Part L of the building regulations. This makes them more energy efficient and hence the owner of the building can look forward to a warmer and more energy friendly home.
